WARNING!!!!!
Before you pay ANY service dog trainer, ANY dog training facility or contribute to ANY non-profit group raising money to finance service dogs or raising money for an individual needing a service dog, please check that any service dog trainer or facility has registered with the Service Dog Regulatory Commission. The SDRC has been established to bring standards to an industry that has been operating without regulations. The SDRC also is serving to expose some of the money making scams being conducted under the cloak of service dog training.
As of December 31, 2014, The Service Dog Regulatory Commission requires that all service dog owners, trainers, facilities, and non-profits register their services with the SDRC. Registration is mandatory but FREE of charge for all currently active service dogs. An administrative fee of $85.00 will be charged for all other service dogs. Registration simply requires that any service dog trainer or service dog owner or any person associated with providing service dogs either charitably or commercially adhere to the requirements that will soon become law under pending legislative initiatives.
As a service dog owner you will be asked to provide information regarding your dog who will be issued an official service dog registration and photo id. Approved service dog trainers, facilities and non-profits will be listed on the SDRC website and upon graduation, all service dogs will be registered individually with a service dog registration and photo id.
Information for each registered service dog will be maintained in a database at the SDRC with current vet records, owner information and any pertinent information.
